ACReSAL to Enthrone Transparency in Procurement Processes – NPC

The National Project Coordinator (NPC) of the ACReSAL Project, Mr. Abdulhamid Umar on Monday said that the project evaluation procedures Seek to get the best responsive bidders and enthrone transparency in procurement processes.

The NPC stated this during the bids opening event for the procurement of ICT Equipment and operational vehicles for the ACReSAL Federal Project Management Unit (FPMU) and lead Implementing Federal Ministries, Department and Agencies (MDAs).

The NPC said procurement of ICT Equipment and Operational Vehicles is linked to the ACReSAL project component C that seeks to support the longer-term institutional and policy strengthening for integrated landscapes management in Nigeria and support project management.

“It includes investments to improve effectiveness, efficiency, communication, staff capacity, monitoring and evaluation systems and other activities in the ACReSAL project implementation,” he said.

He informed the bidders that ACReSAL project is being implemented in the 19 (Nineteen) Northern states and FCT to address the challenges of Land Degradation. While thanking bidders for their interest in ACReSAL and for responding to the Project Advertorials, he noted that bids that come after bid submission closing time has elapsed will not be accepted.

He explained that the lowest and most responsive evaluated bidder will be considered as the overall winner and encouraged those that will not win to see the process as a learning curve that will help them in their subsequent submissions.

“For those that will not win, it is a learning curve, an opportunity to sharpen your skills and try again,” he assured.

In summary, 8 companies bidded for operational vehicles while a total number of 13 firms made submission for ICT equipment. For openness and accountability, submitted bids for the two procurement activities were opened in the presence of the companies’ representatives, where applicable at different intervals.

Speaking on behalf of the bidders, Mr. Yemi Adewale of System House limited, one of the firms that submitted bid for ICT Equipment, commended the National Project Coordinator and his team for the transparent bid opening process and prayed that his organization would be invited for the next step of the activity.
