The Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes – ACReSAL, Gombe State Project Management Unit has in conjunction with the Network of Super Bikers across the world and NOTORE Chemical Industries flagged off the planting of 10,000 assorted seedlings in the State.
The tree planting event, which was part of a week-long activity by the Network of Super Bikers and NOTORE Chemical Industries with the theme Gombe Grand Converge was performed by His Royal Highness, Dr. Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, Emir of Gombe; Chairman Gombe State Council of Emirs and Chiefs who is also the Grand Patron of the Super Bikers at the Mega Motor Park, Gombe.
Speaking on the occasion, the Gombe State ACRESAL Project Coordinator, Amb. Sani Adamu Jauro appreciated the Emir of Gombe on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the World Bank ACReSAL Project Task Team Leader, Dr. Joy Iganya Agene for initiating the massive tree Planting campaign in the State, assuring him of the Gombe ACReSAL Project support and that of Gombe Goes Green Project to make sure that his tree Planting campaign succeeds.
Gombe State ACReSAL provided and conducted the planting of initial 540 seedlings comprising mahogany, eucalyptus, and cashier at the venue of the flag-off ceremony. The Project will continue the planting across the state to achieve the 10,000 seedlings target.
Some of the top dignitaries that participated in the tree planting campaign include the popular Africa Singer, 2face Idibie, Super Bikes Club Associations President, Gomes Adebowale, a representative of the Nigerian Government Tourism Development Agency, and the Country Reps of NOTORE among the dignitaries that graced the occasion.
The highlight of the event was the display and presentation of Gombe State ACReSAL branded T-shirts and caps by the Project Coordinator, Amb. Sani Adamu Jauro to the Emir of Gombe and other dignitaries.
